Okra Editorial
Developmental Editing
Developmental editing focuses on “big picture” elements of your manuscript. I undertake a very detailed reading of your work in order to provide feedback on its argument, structure/organization, evidence, narrative, and style. I present this feedback to you in the form of an editorial letter that offers an assessment of your manuscript, constructive critique, and ideas for potential revisions. Developmental editing services are often most useful once you have a complete or near-complete draft of the manuscript. This service may be combined with the line editing service below, either in the same round of editing or in stages.
Line Editing
Line editing, sometimes called copyediting, involves a line-by-line review of the manuscript. I read your work with attention to paragraph- and sentence-level coherence, tone, word choice, and grammar (e.g. tense, punctuation). I return your manuscript with comments and track-change edits pertaining to these elements. This service may be combined with the developmental editing service above, either in the same round of editing or in stages.
Workshops
Writing skill development workshops are a valuable resource for students at all levels. I offer workshops for undergraduate and graduate students on topics including peer feedback, writing ethnographic field notes, and CV/resume drafting. I can also work with you to develop a workshop on a new topic. Either way, I meet with you once or twice to discuss details of the workshop, then join your class remotely to facilitate the workshop.
Translation (Thai to English)
Translation service involves rendering your Thai-language manuscript into an English-language manuscript.
